Vernon Lee's Story
Life
After graduation, I went to the University of Texas, majoring in Industrial Ralations and earning a commission in the US Marines through Navy ROTC. I attended Navy flight school and went to Vietnam six months before the Marines were pulled out in 1971. I made a career of the Marines, flying helicopters mostly on the East Coast. lege delivering vocational courses under government contract. We transfered to Europe in 1996 and I continued to work with the college providing different educational programs to soldiers and their families. We both retired, me for the second time, in 2002 and relocated to teh mountains of North Carolina outside Asheville. I still have a part time job with CTC and spend the rest of my time tutoring adult basic skills and college math and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
